Color of the Year – Radiant Orchid

A very important detail of wedding and event planning is aesthetics. A huge influencer of aesthetics is color, so it’s incredibly important to select a main shade for your event or wedding to portray the vibe you are shooting for. This year, PANTONE┬«┬áhas selected the color of the year to be Radiant Orchid. If it’s even possible I think I have fallen in love with a color. Radiant Orchid is incredibly versatile and can be used for a Spring, Summer, Fall, OR Winter event!

If you’re hosting a late Spring or early Summer wedding, you could pair Radiant Orchid with almost any lighter color. Think pinks, or lighter shades of purple like Lilac.

If you’re hosting a summer wedding and want a different feel. Consider pairing the Radiant Orchid with blues and steel grays.

If you are planning a little further down the line for a Fall or early winter wedding, you could pair Pantone’s 2014 color of the year with Pantone’s 2013 color of the year, Emerald Green. Just think of how lush and beautiful those two colors together would look! In fact, I know these are great wedding colors because I’ve attended a wedding in late September that used purple & green for their main colors and it was beautiful!

Would you use Radiant Orchid in your wedding? Are you already planning to? If so, please share! I’d love to hear what colors you’re pairing it with! If you have questions or ideas about how to incorporate these colors more into your theme, please ask in the comments section below.
