Richmond Wedding, For US
Anyone who has run a small business knows sometimes it can be way too easy to get so busy doing the job you forget to do the job! We’ve had such a crazy year combining the businesses, that we haven’t updated anyone on how the business is going. We’re going to try to catch up, so we’ll start with something easy and fun first! Christine’s personal friend invited us to his same sex wedding in Richmond, Virginia, right after our wedding anniversary! We couldn’t turn down the chance to spend a weekend in the beautiful Lindon Row Inn in historic downtown Richmond. I just can’t help being THAT GUY — I couldn’t resist getting out my camera to play with my favorite lens. It’s a manual focus 85mm beauty that’s older than I am!
Once, Under a Maple Row
Bartley and Trevor got married under the maples at Maymont’s Maple Row on an absolutely FRIGID fall evening right as the sunset through the golden autumn leaves. It was the kind of beautiful setting that absolutely demanded true love. When the cellist began to play the theme from Sleeping Beauty, we knew we were in for a truly magical wedding experience that proves #LoveIsLove.
Their ceremony included a reading in gratitude of the Supreme Court decision that validated their right to marriage. In a truly blessed moment, Trevor’s sister read Justice Kennedy’s opinion on the rights of same sex couples to seek the union of marriage.
The Wedding Reception
Trevor and Bartley were whisked away by carriage to reception at the nearby historic Tredegar Iron Works museum grounds, where Bartley had designed and arranged a casual and elegant reception in the heated tent. The night was complete with hot cider and Maple Syrup from Bartley’s brother’s own trees. You can’t get more Vermont in Richmond than that.
